New Voices is a student-powered grassroots movement to give young people the legally protected right to gather information and share ideas about issues of public concern. We’re advocating for the new voices of student journalists in Pennsylvania as part of a national movement led by the Student Press Law Center.

WE STAND FOR STUDENT PRESS FREEDOM.

Currently, Pennsylvania Public School Code does guarantee freedom of speech to public school students.

But the current code still permits prior review/restraint, and does not include protection for student media advisers.

Stronger protection for our First Amendment Rights will enable us to continue producing impactful student journalism.
